Methodology

Live from DOB NOW: Certificate of Occupancy, filtered to New Building filings with a CO actually issued — excludes alterations of existing buildings, which get a CO for renovation work but aren't a genuinely new building opening. Ordered by when each record was added to the city's own system, which tracks closely with the real CO issuance date. A CO date can lag the building's actual opening by weeks in either direction, since it's a legal/regulatory filing, not a move-in announcement.
