Sourced directly from DOB NOW: Build Elevator Permit Applications' own applicant_businessname field — the same switch made for Electrical above, for the same reason: keyword-matching the general DOB Permit Issuance dataset badly undercounted real elevator contractors (confirmed live: Otis Elevator, the largest elevator company in the world, had only 166 filings under any name variant there, against 5,067 in DOB NOW's dedicated elevator system). This is now the authoritative source for who's actually pulling elevator permits, not a keyword guess.
